Theme for the 2017 Annual Conference: "Adapt or Die? Transforming Project Management to Embrace the Challenges of Tomorrow”

Each year PMI Norway Chapter holds a conference focused on project management. The conference is a meeting place for project, programme and portfolio managers from the Nordic and European regions. Our objective is to design a multinational event to update PMI members and attendees with state of the art knowledge aligned with the PMI Talent Triangle skill areas. This year the thematic edge is driven by factors influencing projects in a changing world: Projects will need to be cheaper, faster, and more efficient with regard to both quality and scope. The conference strives to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking across business fields, cultures and regions. Recognised distinguished keynotes, peer-driven presentations and an atmosphere of friendship shall assure a successful event both for our members, our sponsors and our corporate partner organizations.

The theme for the 2017 Annual Conference:
"Adapt or Die? Transforming Project Management to Embrace the Challenges of Tomorrow”

The date is Monday September 25th, 9.00 AM – 5.00 PM, and the conference venue will be the Radisson Plaza Hotel in central Oslo, where a number of rooms have been reserved for PMI conference delegates. Early Bird registration will commence April 1st 2017 via the PMI web calendar. A dinner in the evening is included in the conference fee.

The conference theme - Adapt or die? Transforming Project Management to Embrace the Challenges of Tomorrow - focuses on how projects in the future must mirror changing business trends and adapt in scope, domain, content and schedule. Project Managers will need to renew their knowledge and skills within project tools, management skills and specialised domain technology knowledge in order to be successful. In particular, language skills, IT and business development skills, as well as cultural and social intelligence will become key attributes, augmented by proven leadership talent in the project manager of the future.

The programme aims to offer balanced content across the PMI Talent Triangle skill areas and provide a fruitful and an enjoyable arena for the dedicated project practitioner. We welcome delegates from all our sister PMI Chapters, professional project management practitioners, project owners and anybody interested in the conference theme. Please note that the conference language is English. Distinguished keynote speakers have already been engaged for the event. A call for papers is issued separately, with submission of abstracts March 15th 2017.

Attendance qualifies for 5 Professional Development Units (PDUs).
