PMI OSLO BRANCH- SKATTEETATEN'S PREPARATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF GDPR

Last week we had an event with Skatteetaten about GDPR. Nina Elise Jørgensen (Senior Project Manager from PROMIS) and Kristin Lyng (Senior Adviser in Skatteetaten) were the speakers.
We had two very relevant GDPR presentations (which is currently a hot topic) in our last PMI PUB event. There was quite a good member turnout (despite the nice warm weather). Skatteetaten was the sponsor, and the event was held at their office at Helsfyr. The speakers did a great job in explaining their status in preparation for this new data protection law that comes into effect in the EU on the 25th of May 2018.
Nina Elise Jørgensen (Senior Project Manager from PROMIS) gave the first presentation. She started with some general information about Skatteetaten’s focus and the personal information they handle, before going further to explain what this new regulation is all about. Finally, she talked about the approach that they have taken in their implementation.
Kristin Lyng (Senior Adviser in Skatteetaten) addressed the complexity of GDPR agreements, explaining its purpose of ensuring that personal information is processed in accordance with the regulations, and the consequences of non-compliance.
You can download the presentations from the www.PMI-no.com website. There is also a related GDPR webinar publised via the PMI website www.projectmanagement.com that provides 1 PDU.
Finally, Nina Elise facilitated a quiz using Kahoot, where participants answered GDPR related questions. There was one winner who got a prize.
