PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) brings news from PMI Norway Chapter in its Newsletter for October 2016:
PMI Norway Chapter leads project management talk at Oslo International Rotary Club
Presentation included an overview of PMI and PMIEF, and a competitive project using PMIEF resources
Before giving a talk at the Oslo International Rotary Club, chapter PMIEF Liaison Øyvind Johnsen was looking for a way to deliver an engaging and interactive presentation on project management.
His solution was The Tower Game, a PMIEF no-cost resource available in 18 languages. The resource allows individuals to construct a tower out of simple materials while learning project concepts like risk and schedule. The project teams used sticks and marshmallows to create their towers in teams of four or five individuals.
To extend the training, the chapter also utilized excerpts from the Project Management Skills for Life™ resource. Both participants and volunteers were enthusiastic about the success of the event.
