ABOUT THE PRESENTATIONS
Project Management for Development Projects in Wintershall:
Project Management in Wintershall are closely aligned with the PMI systematics and PMBOK framework. The project management and project controlling systems are quite rigid in its requirements with respect to content, but flexible in its implementation and adaption to diverse projects. The PMP and other PMI-certifications are strongly encouraged for key project managers and other key project positions. Wintershall uses a projectized organisation model with high power on the Project Manager versus the discipline functional management.
About the Presenter:
Kjetil Kiste is a Project Manager for Development Projects in Wintershall Norge. He has 27 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry in a series of positions within field development project execution, asset management and operations globally (including for Statoil and Eni). Kjetil also has a role as Project Management Advisor in the company and is responsible for its project management and project controlling management systems and requirements.
Kjetil is a certified PMP with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from NTNU and also holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool.
The process of implementing PMP scheme in DNVGL:
Since 2015, PMP certification has been a mandatory qualification requirement for running project above a certain size in DNVGL, Oil & Gas; why did we decide to go for PMI, how did we get employees on board and what are our experiences.
About the Presenter:
Mindor Sjåstad has more than 20 years of experience in running projects internationally in DNVGL. He has lived and worked in overseas for 17 years, and was responsible for the implementation of PMP certification requirement for DNVGL’s Oil & Gas operations in the Middle- and Far- East while stationed in Dubai from 2013 – 2016.
Mindor is a certified PMP with a B.Sc. in Naval architecture/Marine Engineering and a Master in Energy Management from BI.
Managing Projects in a Matrix Organisation:
Organizations are becoming more complex and are changing rapidly. The days of simple project based organisational charts are gone as companies require efficient and flexible cross-disciplinary functionality. Matrix structures have various lines of reporting, with employees working on multiple teams, leaving the project manager with limited authority. So, how can a Project Manager be successful in a matrix organization?
About the Presenter:
Javier Falcon is a Project Manager in the Subsea Projects Department at Oceaneering. His ten years of experience is mostly from the Oil & Gas industry, with a variety of technical and management roles across the world. Currently, he manages turn-key projects that offer fully integrated solutions by combining a multitude of complementary discrete services and products. In addition, he has implemented the Project Management Office (PMO) in the local organisation.
Javier is PMP certified and holds a Master's degree in Energy Management and a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering.

The meeting is free and open to all interested. The presentations are in English. Food will be served in advance of the event and there will be opportunities for networking before and in the middle of the event.
